Thrive For Life Celebrates New Community Car for Work Behind the Walls

Amid the many blessings of the previous month, Thrive For Life is beyond grateful to our very own Zita and her husband, Anish, for the donation of a brand new car to support our spiritual retreat ministry! Thanks to their generosity, we will be able to more efficiently coordinate travel to and from the prisons when we fully resume our spiritual retreats behind the walls. Currently, the Department of Corrections & Community Supervision has still limited the return of most in-person volunteer programming.

Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated cohort of spiritual mentors, we have continued to provide reflection and contemplation materials to our retreat participants via mail and our monthly community newsletter. We look forward to the return of our full in-person ministry as soon as possible! In the meantime, Fr. Zach has journeyed to Rikers Island and the Metropolitan Correctional Center each week to provide sacramental ministry and chaplain services in lieu of full retreats.

We thank Zita and Anish for their abounding generosity and commitment to our important work behind the walls. Currently, Zita meets regularly with resident scholars at Ignacio House for wellness mentoring as part of our ongoing enrichment activity programming beyond the walls. We are grateful for her time and dedication, especially in this season of thanksgiving!
