Renovations Continue at Ignacio House!

We are thrilled to announce the completion of the dining and community room spaces at Ignacio House, marking a significant milestone in our journey to create a welcoming and nurturing environment for our community of resident scholars! These newly renovated spaces will offer our residents a comfortable place to share meals, engage in conversations, and build a sense of community and belonging as they continue the good work of college education.

The dining area now boasts modern facilities, including brand new lighting fixtures, paint and plastering, and seating to accommodate community meals and gatherings. The adjoining community room provides a cozy space for group activities, workshops, and educational programs, further contributing to the holistic development of our residents.

As we celebrate this achievement, we are also excited to share the upcoming renovation of our on-site chapel, which will be named the "St. Dismas Chapel." This will be the first known chapel dedicated to St. Dismas beyond prison walls, highlighting our commitment to creating a supportive and spiritually enriching environment for those transitioning back into society. St. Dismas, known as the "Good Thief" who was crucified alongside Jesus and expressed his faith, has long been a symbol of redemption and hope for those affected by incarceration. By dedicating the chapel to St. Dismas, we aim to offer a place of reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth for our residents, encouraging them to embrace a new beginning and find strength in their faith. The renovation of the St. Dismas Chapel will include updates to the interior design, installation of new lighting and seating, and the commissioning of custom artwork to create a serene and inviting atmosphere. Once complete, the chapel will host regular services, spiritual retreats, and workshops, fostering a strong spiritual foundation for the Ignacio House community.

With the support of our generous donors and dedicated volunteers, we continue to make significant strides in our mission to provide a nurturing, safe, and empowering space for individuals transitioning from incarceration. We look forward to sharing more updates on the St. Dismas Chapel renovation and invite you to join us in celebrating these milestones at Ignacio House!
