Celebrating Our Ignatian Volunteer Corps Team!
Over the last several years, Thrive For Life has had the great honor of collaborating with the Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) as we work together to transform lives behind and beyond the prison walls. IVC connects retired or semi-retired professionals with meaningful volunteer opportunities to support the many apostolates and ministries throughout the United States. By applying their skills and experience, these volunteers serve local communities in need, deepen their knowledge of Ignatian Spirituality, and participate in reflective group meetings to foster personal growth and social impact.
In New York, Thrive For Life has had the great privilege of working with Nina Valmonte, David McGarry, and Dennis Grant, each of whom has added an indispensable value to the work of our team at Thrive For Life. Drawing upon their storied professional careers across a wide array of industries including community organizing, commercial real estate, and financial services, our IVC team brings new life to our ministry as work grows and nurtures Thrive For Life and deepens our impact as we expand to communities across the country.
In the coming weeks, we look forward to sharing individual stories of each of our New York IVC volunteers in anticipation of the annual Ignatian Volunteer Corps fundraiser on May 3, 2023 at the Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola in Manhattan. This year, Nina, David, and Dennis will be honored with Madonna della Strada Award for their outstanding service to Thrive For Life. We invite members of our community to join us for this momentous event in celebration of the gift of their ministry. Registration information can be found online at the following link: Registration
Thank you, Nina, David, and Dennis, for your service and care for our mission!
