Happy Mother’s Day from Thrive For Life!
This Sunday, we celebrate the beautiful gift of motherhood and cherish all they do for our human family. In anticipation of Mother’s Day, we pay special attention to those mothers behind the prison walls and those with loved ones serving time in prison. Incarceration exacts enormous tolls on families, especially parents who suffer day-in and day-out on account of separation from their sons and daughters. In that vein, we invite members of our community this Sunday to pay special attention and thought to mothers impacted by incarceration.
Thanks to the generosity of the faithful of St. Pius X in Scarsdale, New York, Thrive For Life was able to send 400 Mother Day's cards to our brothers and sisters behind prison walls so they can write to their mothers, grandmothers, wives and other loved ones celebrating this special day. With this initiative and many others, Thrive For Life has maintained an active relationship with numerous incarcerated men and women, as well as the chaplains of Taconic, Bedford, Otisville, Sing Sing, Wallkill, Shawangunk, Rikers, and NJ State.
As we prepare for our return to our in-person retreats behind the walls, staff and all spiritual mentors remain hard at work. To learn more about how you can support this important part of our ministry, please reach out to us at info@thriveforlife.org.
We are always in need of items that can help support our brothers and sisters behind the walls.
In anticipation of this special day, Thrive For Life celebrates our mothers and all they do to love and nurture us. Happy Mother’s Day!
