Renovations Underway at Ignacio House
This past month marked another key milestone for our new Ignacio House as the much-anticipated renovations got underway. Thanks to the generosity of His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Thrive For Life took up residence in a former convent here in Manhattan that will serve as the new site of our house of studies. As our community settles into the new space, we have turned our eye toward the exciting project of restoration and renovation. Made possible through a generous $1 million grant from the Gerstner Family Foundation, our team began these renovations, starting first with resident bedrooms, and now in the first floor common area spaces including our library, living and dining rooms, and chapel. Perhaps most excitingly, we are preparing to break ground in the basement of the house which will eventually serve as the national headquarters for the Thrive For Life community.
Many thanks are owed to Sr. Katie, our Facilities Manager, who has overseen this project and played an instrumental role in organizing and directing our team of engineers, architects, and contractors. Her team has also taken on several residents as part-time interns to help with the execution of the construction plan. As they transform their lives, so too are they transforming this space into a home for our community.
We look forward to sharing more updates with our network of friends, partners, and supporters in the coming weeks on the progress of our project. To learn more about how you can support our work, please visit our website!
