Dear Friends & Family:
I hope this note finds you well. I am writing to share that I will be making a donation in benefit of the Thrive For Life Prison Project for this year’s Giving Tuesday on November 28, 2023. Thrive For Life is a NYC based non-profit providing a continuity of care for returning scholars through a holistic suite of supportive services.
I am writing now to invite you to support my fundraising page. All donations will go to support Thrive For Life’s Houses of Studies which provides a continuity of care and holistic suite of supportive services to formerly incarcerated people doing the great work of college education.
Why are we doing this? Because…
Education drastically reduces rates of recidivism: 14% with an Associates Degree, 5.6% with a Bachelor's Degree, and 0% with a Master’s Degree.

CREATE A FACEBOOK FUNDRAISER
One of the easiest ways to begin fundraising is through Facebook’s donation tool. This allows your Facebook friends to directly donate to your campaign through a few simple clicks. You can also track the proceeds you have raised so far through the program. Below is a step-by-step guide to setting up a donation page through Facebook:
On your computer, login to Facebook.
On the left, click Fundraisers.
On the left, click Raise money.
Click Nonprofit
You can either:
Type into the search bar to find ‘Thrive for Life Prison Project’
Select the nonprofit.
On the left, enter:
The goal amount of money you want to raise
The currency you want the funds to be in
Click Create.
You’ll see a screen pop up where you can invite your friends to donate to your fundraiser, share your fundraiser in your news feed, or donate to the fundraiser yourself.
SPREAD THE WORD!
Share the event on your social media pages (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.). Here are some tips to keep in mind:
After setting up your donation page online, find the link to your fundraiser and use this when posting to social media.
You can add the link in your Instagram bio, on a tweet, or in the text of your Facebook post.
When posting to social media, it is helpful to use “hashtags”, or key terms that are preceded by the “#” sign (e.g. #ThriveForLife, etc.). These help to push your post to a wider audience. Here are some hashtags to add your posts:
