Position Details
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Coordinator will be responsible for:
Spiritual Ministry
• Oversee and curate the behind-the-prison-walls retreat programming in NYC, NYS, andNew Jersey, part of the Thrive For Life mission.
• Find creative and inspirational ways to transmit the Ignatian charism in the work of caring for incarcerated persons and their families.
• Provide spiritual exercises, pastoral care and counseling, and a compassionate and caring presence. • Demonstrate various pastoral skills, including listening, empathic reflection, conflict resolution, crisis management, grief support, and appropriate use of religious/spiritual resources.
• Assess the strengths and needs of those served, grounded in the Gospel and Catholic Social Teaching, and applying behavioral sciences.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteer spiritual mentorship program and mentors for service in the jails/prisons, while maintaining clearance records for current and incoming volunteers.
• Create spaces for communal discernment among inmates, staff, and volunteers for the advancement of Thrive For Life’s mission.
• Interface with the communications department
Relationship Building
• Cultivate relationships and network of human resources among Thrive For Life, community partners, schools, parishes, Catholic Charities, facility chaplains, and program coordinators. • Excite and encourage the imagination of staff and volunteers, toward meeting and transcending Thrive For Life’s mission.
Administrative Work
• Manage ministry and administrative functions regarding accountability, productivity, self-direction, and clear, accurate professional communication.
• Serve as liaison and collaborate with the Department of Correction (NYC), the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYS), and the Department ofCorrections of the State of NJ.
• Available for weekend programming behind and behind the prison walls.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience are required.
• English and Spanish speaking and writing proficiency.
• Must be proficient in multiple technology platforms including Google, Microsoft, Canva.
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving organization.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree or higher, preferably in Ministry, Divinity, Social Work, or related areas. Understanding of Ignatian Spirituality is a plus.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Three years of experience in ministerial work or human services.
• Ability to develop curriculum for retreats behind the walls and volunteer formation.
• Ability to plan and facilitate retreats and workshops related to Thrive For Life’s mission and spirituality.
• Wide-ranging curiosity and ability to encourage intellectual exploration in others.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of organizational life.
Compensation and Benefits
• Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with education and experience.
• Salary range: $60,000-$70,000.

Position Details
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Executive/Personal Assistant will manage all scheduling, appointments, and administrative needs of the ED to support the ED personally and professionally. Specific tasks include:
General
• Perform a broad variety of administrative tasks for the ED including managing an extremely active calendar of appointments, composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential, managing calendars, itineraries, and agendas, and compiling documents for all meetings. • Provide a bridge for smooth communication between the ED and internal departments, demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust, and support with senior management and all staff, partners, and volunteers.
• Work closely and effectively with the ED to keep them well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, and follow up appropriately.
• Research, prioritize, and follow up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to theED, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature.
• Prioritize conflicting needs by handling a variety of issues expeditiously, proactively, and with a high level of professionalism.
• As requested, participate in meetings, take notes, and disseminate as needed.
Office
• Manage all aspects of the organization’s office services including mail, receptionist management, phone lines, etc.
• Manage & keep orderly the Google Drives for ED and organization.
• Replenish office materials such as snacks, printer supplies, paper, office supplies, etc.
Board of Directors
• Act as a liaison and provide support to the Board of Directors. Arrange and handle all logistics for Board meetings and events in conjunction with the Director of Development: schedule meetings; draft agendas; develop, compile, and distribute presentation materials; and record meeting minutes on behalf of the Board Secretary. Adhere to compliance with applicable rules and regulations set in bylaws regarding Board matters.
Other
• Provide hospitality to all guests and help to create a welcoming environment.
• Provide event management support as requested.
• Other projects/duties as assigned.

• Ability to work in an office environment, with occasional needs to be present at meetings and events around the greater New York City area.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
• Spanish is a plus.
• Interest in and familiarity with the Catholic Church and its teachings, and those of the Jesuits.
Compensation and Benefits
• Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with education and experience.
• Salary range: $60,000-$70,000.
